I have officially made bruschetta around four or five times, and I must say that I'm getting pretty good at it. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture because, let's face it, I was just too lazy to walk to my room to get my camera. But never fear! because I will most likely be making it again sometime very very soon and will definitely take a picture!
I've always loved bruschetta. The concept seems pretty simple and kind of boring (it's basically just tomatoes on top of pieces of bread), but add in some olive oil, basil, and WHAM! it's a mixture of flavor that is just rolling around in your mouth.
I finally got inspiration to make it after watching JULIE AND JULIA. The way that she turns those pieces of bread in the skillet to see it all crisp and brown on the other side just made my salivary glands start working up a storm. Hence, I decided to make bruschetta. I admit that the first time that I made it was kind of fail. I used chibatta (did I even spell that right? sorry, my spelling is atrocious) bread and while I'm not bashing it because it does taste very good, there were just so many holes when I cut it open that it was difficult to fry in the pan. So I learned from my mistake the second time and bought french bread to use. It worked out beautifully if I do say so myself and I've continued to use french bread for the numerous times afterward.
My roommates seem to have attacked the bruschetta, so I would say that it turned out to be quite a success :)

Dukbokki and Green Onion Pancake!
I chose to go entirely Korean this week! woohoo! It's actually a pretty strange combination for me. I happen to love korean food, but I can't handle that much spiciness. weeeeeird!
which totally reminds me, my roomie made kimchi stew and I have to ask her how to make it because it tasted SOOOOOO goood :D so if you're reading this, teach meee!!!!!
- this post is once again dedicated to my roomie MK for eating my food!!! :) hope you liked it!
Appetizer Galore!
So I've realized that I've reached a problem with doing this blog. While it does kind of encourage - force - me to actually keep going with making food, I get entirely lazy when putting up new posts. But here goes!
I actually decided to make appetizers last week and decided upon Stuffed Mushrooms, Deviled Eggs, and Crabcakes. I was also going to make Bruschetta, but I totally forgot to get the ingredients so the next time that I feel like making appetizers I will definitely make Bruschetta!
yay for appetizers galore!
- This post if dedicated to Fred since he came to me to be my taster!

Baked Eggplant with Pasta
I've always had an urge to make something stuffed. Stuffed mushrooms (which I still have yet to try), stuffed peppers, stuffed..whatever else that you can possibly stuff. So I found a recipe in my Italian cookbook about stuffed eggplant and decided to give it a try. I will first start out by saying that I really do need to practice on cutting and scoring eggplant if I ever want to do this recipe again. I ended up cutting off too much of the top of the eggplant so that instead of the filling resting comfortably in the eggplant there was just this giant gaping hole for it to escape from. This recipe was actually pretty simple and you can just eat the pasta mixture that's made for the stuffing all by itself. I normally like eggplant, but with this recipe I felt like I was eating way too much of it. It still tasted good, but I don't think it's going to be something I'm going to be making a lot unless I have this giant craving for eggplant.
- I dedicate this post to one of my oldest friends MW. I remember that she likes eggplant so this made me think of her :)

Creamed Spaghetti & Mushrooms
Here's to my first week cooking something new! I found this recipe in an italian recipe book that my mom gave me. I actually post-marked a whole bunch of the recipes and this one just seemed like one of the easier ones that I could try. I actually really liked this pasta recipe. It wasn't too difficult and my main problem was waiting for the noodles to cook. After that I actually encountered another problem since there wasn't enough sauce for all of the noodles, so I just put this and that together and added the two together. It still turned out pretty well if I do say so myself!
The Foodie Start
I've always liked cooking. It's just that I either have no time or I'm just way too lazy to actually cook. Last year when I finally got an apartment I vowed to myself that each and every week I would try something new. That idea just never left my head. This time though, I'm determined, hence the blog. This way I'd actually be a little more motivated (or I'd just feel more forced) to actually continue on with my foodie adventure. So join me! :)
- I shall dedicate my very first post to my roomie MK for getting me started. :)
